Fishing is improving rapidly on Lake Texoma. Since the water has warmed to 61 degrees they are becoming more active and feeding regularly. Diving birds are active right now chasing schools of feeding stripers on both sides of the lake. Horsehead jigs with pearl sassy shads are doing the trick. Casting into the middle of the birds will almost guarantee a fish and some fast action. Without the birds, drifting the flats in 15’to 30’ of water is catching fish but the action is slower. Live shad or shiners fished near the bottom is your best bet for a limit of fish. Look for fishing to improve rapidly as May approaches. May is considered by many to be the best fishing month on Texoma for post spawn, hungry stripers. Thanks for the update from John at www.texomastriperfishing.comE T Fishin'
